I gave a piece to Nessie to let her decide if the pasta is any good....

Shall we see what the verdict is??

**Nibble Nibble.....***

"Tasty, me like!!" said Nessie, with an big grin on her little face.

"May I have some more??" asked Nessie

"Of course!"

"Lovely, I'm full now. Thankyou" answered Nessie, kindly.

"Your welcome"

Corn eating....

Firstly Nessie wanted to say a big HI!

I had given her a taste of a corn cob and she got right to business.

Nessie's posture here is rather funny because she's too busy eating so motion gesture is all she can give today.

She really enjoyed eating this corn, full of taste of freshly made corn on a kob.

I was actually surprised that Nessie behaved so well. Just sitting there in my hand munching...

Looks like she really really likes this corn kob, that she is just relaxing and taking it easy lol.

Doesn't she look cute here.

Later in the evening she had a nice little nap. What have you been up to this evening??

Sleeping Nessie....

As you all know, hamsters are nocturnal. They are active in the evening and sleep during the day. I learnt that "understanding and working with a hamster’s sleep schedule is essential to developing a good relationship."
Here is an good example of Nessie being all curled up beside her wheel sleeping...

Using my Flash mode on my digital camera now, you can see she looks all tired out.

Now, I came across this website which gives you a bit of information about hamster sleep:

The following steps help you accommodate your hamster’s sleep needs:
•Clean the cage, provide food and handle a hamster in late afternoon or evening.
•Learn a hamster’s schedule, and handle and play with it during its waking periods.
•Place the hamster’s cage in a dark, quiet area where the animal can sleep comfortably during the day and where its digging, scratching and wheel-running won’t disturb you in the middle of the night.
•Provide a cozy enclosed space such as a small box or clay pot turned on its side where the hamster can sleep.
•If you need to waken your hamster, talk to it quietly as you change its food and water. Your voice and the activity will bring it out of its slumber.
•Wake your hamster at the same time every day to help it develop a regular schedule.

Natural History Musuem...

A few weeks ago, I went to the Natural History Musuem in London.

As you can see there was lots to see and do in the musuem, from a gallery of stones to big dinosaur bones...

This was really interesting, because there was an moving escalators in the middle which goes through a big looking planet and the way they structured it, it was brilliant!

I enjoyed this displays about prehistoric monkey skulls and evolution. However, if you look at the right hand side of the photograph, it reminded me of a prehistoric looking hamster skull lol!!

Halloween Highlights...

Even though Halloween has gone, and another month closer
to December. I just want to show you the creepy delights that I
had made over the past weekend, whilst Nessie was busy
sleeping in her little burrow...

As you can see below, the first thing I started off with was making some fresh worms...

These worms look tasty enough to eat!!

Don't worry, these are safe enough to eat and looked realistic too. All it consisted off was long frankfurters cut into long thin stripes and boil in hot water for a few mins until the frankfurters start to curl and thats when you need to take them out of the hot water and leave to drain off the excess water.

The next thing was Dragon's Eyes....

These little beauties were a hit that night, (Excuse the plates, I could only use what I could find that night!)

Anyways, these were boiled eggs cut in half and the yolfs removed into a bowl and mixed with mayonaise, cayenne pepper and a bit chilli powder and stuffed back into the eggs and a drizzle of marmite for the bleeding eye effects.

Next, Nessie's favourite...

Sweet & cheese teeths!!

These consists of apple slices, thinly sliced with cubes of medium cheddar between each apple pieces.

Don't they look smiley in that photograph??

Next up, was Mr Spider...

Yes, he was real and lurking around my living room.

Quite creepy looking doesn't he??

Here's Mr Ronan the Rat. He just comes and goes these days, so you might see him lurking around in my house now and then.

Oooo and these Bat Wings are marinated in BBQ sauce and baked in the oven for 30 mins.

And finally the sweet treat. You didn't think I will miss that one, did you??

I had made a lovely chocolate spider cake...

Not literally a spider hehe! However to achieve that design on the cake was to cover the entire cake with melted chocolate and whilst the chocolate was still warm, Imixed some Icing sugar and warm together to create a smooth batter and poured it in a circle on the cake. Then using a knife I drew some lines from the centre to the outter ring of the cake to create the spider design.

So, as you can see, I had a fabulous Halloween evening and watched a few horror movies in the night.

Later on in the evening, I went to see how Nessie was....

Looks like she just got up actually, good timing!

Because I found a lovely snack bar treat for her to munch on...

She tucked in right away....

I think she enjoyed it.

Did you have a good halloween???

"I love Halloween! I am going to dress up??" smiled Nessie

"Nice, what you going to dress up as??" ....

" will have to wait and see" giggle Nessie

"By the way, will there be any food??" asked Nessie

"Of course! Lots of nibbles for you to munch on" ...

"Cool!" cheered Nessie

" ......."  climbing stance....

"I'm going to get some exercise. Upside down walking!" squeaked Nessie

Lazy Sunday...

Isn't it a lovely Sunday morning.

The sun is shining, the apples on the apple trees are falling...

and Nessie's been sleeping....

It does look like she enjoying her sleep.

Let's not go and wake her up.....

Oh! I spoke to soon.

"Hello Nessie, how are you??"...

"Grr...g.....s....ggssa....." said Nessie, mumbling...

"I think that is a nice message saying, 'Be off with you'??" ...

"I think she is slowly falling asleep now. Let's go and enjoy our Sunday day"...
