Halloween Highlights...

Even though Halloween has gone, and another month closer
to December. I just want to show you the creepy delights that I
had made over the past weekend, whilst Nessie was busy
sleeping in her little burrow...

As you can see below, the first thing I started off with was making some fresh worms...

These worms look tasty enough to eat!!

Don't worry, these are safe enough to eat and looked realistic too. All it consisted off was long frankfurters cut into long thin stripes and boil in hot water for a few mins until the frankfurters start to curl and thats when you need to take them out of the hot water and leave to drain off the excess water.

The next thing was Dragon's Eyes....

These little beauties were a hit that night, (Excuse the plates, I could only use what I could find that night!)

Anyways, these were boiled eggs cut in half and the yolfs removed into a bowl and mixed with mayonaise, cayenne pepper and a bit chilli powder and stuffed back into the eggs and a drizzle of marmite for the bleeding eye effects.

Next, Nessie's favourite...

Sweet & cheese teeths!!

These consists of apple slices, thinly sliced with cubes of medium cheddar between each apple pieces.

Don't they look smiley in that photograph??

Next up, was Mr Spider...

Yes, he was real and lurking around my living room.

Quite creepy looking doesn't he??

Here's Mr Ronan the Rat. He just comes and goes these days, so you might see him lurking around in my house now and then.

Oooo and these Bat Wings are marinated in BBQ sauce and baked in the oven for 30 mins.

And finally the sweet treat. You didn't think I will miss that one, did you??

I had made a lovely chocolate spider cake...

Not literally a spider hehe! However to achieve that design on the cake was to cover the entire cake with melted chocolate and whilst the chocolate was still warm, Imixed some Icing sugar and warm together to create a smooth batter and poured it in a circle on the cake. Then using a knife I drew some lines from the centre to the outter ring of the cake to create the spider design.

So, as you can see, I had a fabulous Halloween evening and watched a few horror movies in the night.

Yummy!!

Later on in the evening, I went to see how Nessie was....

Looks like she just got up actually, good timing!

Because I found a lovely snack bar treat for her to munch on...

She tucked in right away....

I think she enjoyed it.

Did you have a good halloween???
